Goldie HawnActor / Movie ProducerBorn: 21 November 1945 Birthplace: Washington, D.C. Best known as: The star of the movie Private Benjamin Goldie Hawn was originally hired as a dancer for TV's Laugh-In, the mod comedy show of the late 1960s. She was given jokes to read, which she consistently flubbed, and soon the ding-a-ling in a bikini was one of the show's most popular co-stars. Hawn won an Oscar for her major movie debut, a supporting role in Cactus Flower (1969, with Walter Matthau), but her filmography is a mixed bag. She's been in many light comedies, turned in a solid performance in Steven Spielberg's The Sugarland Express (1974) and had one blockbuster, the 1980 comedy Private Benjamin. She is the longtime girlfriend of actor Kurt Russell and the mother of actress Kate Hudson. Copyright © 1998-2006 by Who2?, LLC. All rights reserved. More on Goldie Hawn from Fact Monster:
