John Woo  (Ng Yu-Sum [Cantonese]; Wu Yu-Sen [Mandarin]) director Born: 5/01/1946 Birthplace: Guangzhou, Canton, China Woo got his start in show business at Hong Kong's Cathay Studios, where he worked as a script supervisor. His films include The Young Dragons (1973), The Killer (1989), and A Better Tommorrow (1986), the highest grossing Hong Kong film of all time and the movie that first brought Woo international attention.
