Parts of Speech

Grammar

English words are divided into eight different parts of speech according to their function in a sentence. The parts of speech are (the envelope, please): adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, interjections, nouns, pronouns, prepositions, and verbs. Here, you learn how to recognize parts of speech so you have a standard way to describe how words work together to create meaning.
