Aranguren, José Luis

Aranguren, José Luis (hōsā' lOOēs' ärängOO'rān) [key], 1909–, Spanish philosopher, theologian, and essayist, b. Ávila. A professor of ethics and sociology at the Univ. of Madrid, he is concerned with philosophical problems. His works include La filosofía de Eugenio D'Ors [the philosophy of Eugenio D'Ors] (1945), Protestantismo y catolicismo como formas de existencia [Protestantism and Catholicism as forms of existence] (1952), La juventud europea y otros ensayos [European youth and other essays] (1961), and Human Communication (tr. 1967).
