Sacheen Littlefeather

Sacheen Littlefeather is best known for having appeared at Marlon Brando's behest at the Academy Awards ceremony in 1973, where, in Apache dress, she refused Brando's Best Actor Oscar for The Godfather to protest Hollywood's treatment of American Indians. Littlefeather, then a B movie actress and sometime activist, is of Yaqui ancestry.
