Asian Food Primer: Korean Food

Koreans are believed to have migrated from the Mongolian steppes and that is reflected in the prevalence of meat, which in restaurants is often cooked on miniature grills brought right to the table. Spiced cabbage and rice are served at almost every meal.

Common ingredients:

Carrots

beef, pork, lamb, seafood, chicken, cabbage, onions, carrots, lettuce, rice

Popular dishes:

kimchi (spiced cabbage); barbecued beef or pork mixed with garlic and onions and wrapped in lettuce; soups; ginseng tea
